Here is the bad news: Modern humans are prosecuting a war on life and are set to “win” it. This win will end the last three hundred million years of evolution. All species less enduring than the cockroach will be forgotten, and there will be no one to remember them, no one to mourn the homicidal-suicidal species that chose to become like galloping consumption by killing its host—and then itself. Life is squeezed between the self-absorption of humanity and is mindless efficiency as a swarm of killers.
The questions facing you now are: Do I value life over hoarding?, and What am I willing to do for the life on earth that has unstintingly shared the wonder of existence with its least appreciative species?
If you are already an active participant in the Society for Ecological Restoration, or another habitat restoration group, you have answered these questions. Even so, you may expect modern medicine to be doing something to save the human species, at the least. This is not the case. If you are a patient or a doctor, you may feel that you are doing enough. You are not. Even if you are working full-out to help self and others, you are probably doing the wrong thing by attacking the wrong problems in the wrong way. The main reason for this is that you are deeply embedded in modern systems, and those systems are lethal. Hence the sixth extinction that we are presently accelerating.
Evolve Medicine offers an initial living paradigm for medicine that enables you to engage biological realities in wonder and curiosity, to see the world with new eyes, and to do your part to save life on earth—inclusive of yourself, your kith and kin, your habitats, and life on earth. By using your creativity, experience, and heart, you can lead doctors of life and their cohorts to avert the sixth extinction.
